The Beatles LOVE soundtrack a worldwide smash
The Beatles have scored yet another worldwide hit with the release of the soundtrack to their Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas spectacle, The Beatles LOVE. The album, which entered the Billboard 200 album chart last week at Number Four, selling 272,000 copies, has become a smash all over the globe.
The Beatles' fan website Abbey Road Best (abbeyrd.best.vwh.net) reported that LOVE has hit the Top Five in nine different countries: Number Two in Germany; Number Three in the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Ireland; Number Four in Holland, Austria, and Spain; and Number Five in Portugal and Finland. Ringo Starr says that he loves the new album and is amazed by the concept of cross referencing multiple Beatles songs within one single track: "You know, I love that we're re-enhancing the Beatle music, you know, the Beatles' songs. You've got the other (versions) if you want 'em, but this is a new... it's a new experience."
The soundtrack which was compiled by the Beatles' legendary producer George Martin and his son Giles, features the group's legendary songs intertwined and remixed to create a new "soundscape" of Beatles music.
Among the Fab Four classics found on the 26-track soundtrack are "Get Back," "I Am The Walrus," "The Word," "Blackbird," "Yesterday," "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Within You Without You," "Octopus's Garden," "All You Need Is Love," and others.
The Beatles LOVE stage production is now running in Las Vegas at The Mirage.
