Franz Ferdinand singer makes surprise club appearance
Franz Ferdinand singer and guitarist Alex Kapranos made a surprise appearance onstage at a Vancouver club on Saturday (December 2nd), according to NME.com. Sporting a new beard, Kapranos performed Franz Ferdinand's hit "Take Me Out" with local act the Evaporators and joked to the audience, "It's true, I am leaving Franz Ferdinand to become the guitar technician for the Evaporators." Kapranos is currently in Vancouver with the rest of Franz Ferdinand, recording their third album.
The new album will follow up the Scottish quartet's 2005 sophomore effort, You Could Have It So Much Better.
Kapranos is publishing a book this month called Sound Bites, collecting all the food columns he's written for U.K. newspaper the Guardian.
