Garbage reuniting for benefit
Garbage will make its first live appearance in a year and a half next month in California, according to Gigwise.com. The group will reunite and perform acoustically at a benefit in Glendale for musician Wally Ingram, who is recovering from cancer. Other artists slated to appear include Dave Lovering and Joey Santiago of the Pixies, along with Bonnie Raitt. This will be the first appearance together by the members of Garbage since the band went on "indefinite" hiatus last year after touring in support of its fourth album, Bleed Like Me.
A "best-of" compilation called Absolute Garbage is slated to arrive on March 20th, 2007.
Garbage singer Shirley Manson is currently working on her debut solo album, also due out in 2007. The singer will also cover a yet-to-be-named John Lennon song for a Darfur benefit album due out next year.
Drummer Butch Vig has resumed working as a producer, recently recording new efforts with Jimmy Eat World and Florida band Against Me.
