Godsmack vocalist sets February publication for book
Godsmack vocalist Sully Erna has launched a web site for his first book, a memoir called The Paths We Choose, which is due out on February 7th. Erna told us that the book is neither an autobiography nor a mere chronicle of life in a rock and roll band: "This is kind of just a snapshot of the first 30 years of my life, and it starts when I was born and it ends when Godsmack gets a record deal. So it's not about how many girls we've slept with and how many times we've almost overdosed from drug abuse and things like that. I think it's more of a 'lessons learned' kind of book, you know. There's a lot of connecting the dots and how it turned me into the person that I am today because of the experiences I went through when I was younger."
The book's web site is ThePathsWeChoose.com.
Godsmack is currently finishing up a headlining North American trek in support of its latest album, IV (Four). The last two dates are on Tuesday, December 5th, in Binghamton, New York, and Thursday, December 7th, in Manchester, New Hampshire.
The band plans to take the early months of 2007 off and possibly launch a new tour around March or April.
Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin, guitarist Tony Rombola and bassist Robbie Merrill's side project, called Another Animal, is tentatively scheduled to release its debut disc in early 2007.
