Injuries reported at second Disturbed "Weapon" show
The fall leg of Disturbed's Music As A Weapon tour came to a rough close as 13 people were injured at the second-to-last stop last Thursday night (December 21st) at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. According to Tunelab Music, 10 people were treated at a local hospital, with one taken into surgery. The incident followed a similar occurrence at a December 19th show in Green Bay, Wisconsin, when as many as 30 people were treated for various injuries and two sent to the hospital, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
The disturbance at the Green Bay show was at least partially blamed on overcrowding, with 5,731 fans in attendance at a venue that normally holds 3,000.
There was a total of 7,186 people in attendance at the Cedar Rapids concert, with the U.S. Cellular Center's maximum capacity reported as 7,500.
Music As A Weapon, which also featured Stone Sour, Flyleaf and Nonpoint, wrapped up on Friday night (December 22nd) in Madison, Wisconsin, with no incidents reported.
Plans are in the works for a second leg in early 2007, although dates, venues and acts are not confirmed.
