Iron Maiden, Incubus confirmed for Middle East rock fest

Incubus and Iron Maiden have been confirmed as the headliners for the Desert Rock 2007 festival, scheduled to take place on March 9th and 10th at the Dubai Country Club in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. Maiden will headline on the 9th with Incubus closing out the second night's show. Also appearing at the event will be Stone Sour, Mastodon, the Prodigy, In Flames and Lauren Harris, daughter of Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris.

Although Incubus plans to hit some remote places while touring in 2007, singer Brandon Boyd told us that the band won't be on the road as much as it has been in the past: "Our touring ethic this album is going to be vastly different than the last couple that we did. We're gonna be traveling further than we've ever gone, but we're not going to be, I guess you could say as available as we have been in the past. For a number of reasons, but mostly just because I feel like it's not worth all of it if you don't have a moment to, like, stop and smell the roses. We love playing concerts, we're just not gonna play as many of them."

Incubus will be supporting its recently released new album, Light Grenades. A North American trek begins on January 5th in Vancouver, Canada.

More acts are expected to be announced for Desert Rock soon.

Bands that have played at previous Desert Rock events include 3 Doors Down, Puddle Of Mudd, Megadeth and the Darkness.
