Jethro Tull leader getting ready for benefit show in London
Jethro Tull leader Ian Anderson is getting ready for a special charity show in London this week. He's playing a benefit at St. Bride's Church on Fleet Street on Tuesday, December 19th, where he'll do holiday music by Jethro Tull and by others. Proceeds from the event will go to organizations that benefit the homeless in the U.K.
Anderson told us that he first got involved with the people at St. Bride's thanks to an old friend: "Last year, I was asked by my old pal Greg Lake -- ex-Emerson, Lake & Palmer -- to accompany him playing his 'Father Christmas' song. He'd been asked to go an perform this at a carol service at St. Bride's Church in London, and getting to know the folks at St. Bride's Church, they asked me if I would do something this year."
