Linkin Park singer, Alice In Chains guitarist celebrating New Year's Eve with Camp Freddy
Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington and Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell will join the all-star covers band Camp Freddy at a New Year's Eve (December 31st) show in Las Vegas, according to Blabbermouth.net. Camp Freddy guitarist Dave Navarro will not perform due to a previous engagement, but regulars Matt Sorum and Scott Weiland from Velvet Revolver and ex-Cult bassist Billy Morrison will be on hand. The venue is yet to be announced.
Camp Freddy recently released a cover of Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" as a download at the iTunes online music store. The band shot a video for the song two weeks ago at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood.
The group has been in and out of the studio for the last year or so working on its debut album, which will be comprised of cover songs and feature guest appearances from Cantrell, Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, Cult guitarist Billy Duffy and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
