Lynyrd Skynyrd to feature guests & concepts on next album
Lynyrd Skynyrd is moving forward on a new studio album, but don't expect it anytime soon. Their last one was Vicious Cycle, which came out in May 2003, and the guys are taking their time to make sure the next one is as good as it can be. Lead singer Johnny Van Zant told us they've got a schedule and a plan for the album: "We're wanting it out at least by, I would say at least September of next year. You know, we're gonna do a little concept stuff, you know? I wanna, we wanna try to write with a few different people, record with a few different people, and, you know, kind of do a fun record. You know, have some of our favorite people come in on this record. Not a whole album of that, but at least half of it, or something." The members of Lynyrd Skynyrd are home enjoying the holidays. They get back to work on January 5th, when their "Gimme 3 Days" Cruise sets sail from Miami. The cruise will also feature 38 Special, Sister Hazel, and Drivin N Cryin, among many other acts.
