New Fall Out Boy album most diverse yet
Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump told Billboard.com on Friday (December 8th) that the band's third album, Infinity On High, will be its most diverse offering yet, explaining, "From song to song there's a completely different feel, but they all make sense in context. They've got a few common points, but overall there's a lot of different voices and perspectives and styles. It would be dishonest for us to hold back any of these elements." Stump added that the album features more piano, along with strings and horns, but said, "At the end of the day the core of the songs is just four guys -- drums, bass and two guitars -- playing. They're just rock songs."
Infinity On High is set to arrive on February 6th. Stump described the first single, "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race," as "a hip-hop/R&B song, but written as a punk song."
The disc features guest appearances from rapper Jay-Z, as well as members of Panic! At The Disco and New Found Glory.
Fall Out Boy will begin its Friends Or Enemies tour on January 4th in San Francisco, finishing up two weeks later on the 20th in Orlando, Florida. The band plays a radio festival on Wednesday (December 13th) in Detroit.
