Peter Gabriel says Santa Claus is alive and well

Peter Gabriel's faith in the holiday season has been restored, thanks to an encounter with Santa Claus. In his latest video message to his fans, Gabriel talks about meeting St. Nick recently, and how that fixed something in him that was damaged about 50 years ago: "I was at a party on the weekend with my five-year-old son and I actually met Santa Claus, so I now have the evidence. In fact, it was Juliet Wilson -- who I've never really forgiven -- who, I think when I was about Isaac's age, told me that Father Christmas, as I used to call him then, didn't actually exist. I got very angry, and I insisted that she come over to my house there and then and talk to my parents, 'cause they would put her right. It was a very sad day in my life, but I'm happy to see that Santa has recovered, and is now alive and well and somewhere in the region of Bath (England)."

In the video, Gabriel also sent out an all-inclusive holiday greeting: "For everyone that it applies to, I wish you a Happy Christmas, and for everyone for whom Christmas doesn't apply, have a great holiday. And for anyone who hasn't got a holiday, well, bad luck, and I'll raise my glass to you."

The monthly video updates can be seen at the official petergabriel.com website.
