Snow Patrol looking forward to North American return
Irish band Snow Patrol will begin its next North American tour on February 26th in Portland, Oregon, as the group continues to support its 2005 gold album, Eyes Open, and massively successful single, "Chasing Cars." Although the band has been touring for most of the past year, and even had to stop at one point to let frontman Gary Lightbody rest his voice, guitarist Nathan Connolly told us that the road is where Snow Patrol wants to be: "You know, we're a touring band, you know, we enjoy it and always have, and we love coming to the States and we getting to new places and, you know, we try to get out as much as we can to explore, you know."
Snow Patrol's strenuous schedule hasn't just affected Lightbody during the past year. Bassist Paul Wilson was injured earlier this fall, forcing the band off the road for four weeks.
The band's early 2007 jaunt will include OK Go and the Silversun Pickups as support and wind up in Edmonton, Canada on April 10th.
"Chasing Cars" was recently the number one most downloaded song in the iTunes Top 10, with U.S. download sales of well over 800,000.
The track is also nominated for a Grammy this year for Best Rock Song.
