Tribute concert planned for Bon Scott

Former AC/DC frontman Bon Scott will be the subject of a tribute concert in Fremantle, Australia, on February 25th. Some of Australia's biggest rock musicians have signed on to play the gig at the Claremont Showgrounds, including the Angels, Rose Tattoo, the Screaming Jets, and the Party Boys, an Australian rock supergroup that includes one-time AC/DC bassist Mark Evans. The artists are expected to play Bon Scott-era AC/DC songs, as well as their own material. Proceeds from the event will help fund a Scott statue in Fremantle, where he grew up after his family emigrated from Scotland.

There's been no word as to whether any current members of AC/DC will take part in the show.

On February 19th, 1980, Bon Scott was found dead in London after a long night of drinking. His death certificate listed the cause as acute alcohol poisoning, and -- befitting his reputation -- a coroner's inquest ruled his passing to be "death by misadventure."
