Attorney denies McCartney-Mills divorce settlement story
Paul McCartney and Heather Mills haven't reached a settlement in their divorce proceedings after all. The British tabloid The News Of The World recently reported that McCartney would give Mills cash and real estate worth about $63 million to end the marriage, but the law firm representing Mills has denied the story. Mishcon De Reya Solicitors announced, "With regard to the article in (The) News Of The World, we would like to state that there has been no offer made whatsoever at any time to our client, and therefore no settlement has been agreed," according to the Associated Press.
The News Of The World said that Macca would give Mills a mansion in northwest London, another one in Beverly Hills, and a lump sum of cash, for a total value of more than $63 million. The story also said that the interest on the cash payout would give Mills about $2 million a year.
The couple married in 2002 and had a daughter named Beatrice the following year. McCartney and Mills separated last May, and divorce proceedings began in July.
