Billy Corgan squires old flame Courtney Love to premiere

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan was seen squiring old flame Courtney Love to the Los Angeles premiere of the new Hilary Swank movie, Freedom Writers, on Thursday (January 4th). The two were caught smooching on camera by TMZ.com outside the event. Corgan dated Love in the late '80s and was her last relationship before she met and married late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Although Corgan and Love have publicly feuded in the past, the two have been close again for years. Corgan co-wrote some material for the last album Love did with Hole, Celebrity Skin, and has also contributed to her upcoming second solo effort.

Corgan reportedly lived with Love from February to October of 2005, after her release from rehab, and had his own wing in her Hollywood mansion.

Love recently announced online that she is deciding between two new record deals for her second solo outing, the follow-up to 2004's America's Sweetheart.

Corgan reactivated the Smashing Pumpkins in 2006 after a six-year layoff and is working on a new album with drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. It is not known if any other original Pumpkins will be participating.
