Chevelle staying consistent on new album

Chevelle has issued a new single this week called "Well Enough Alone," the first song to be heard from the band's forthcoming album Vena Sera. Lead singer and guitarist Pete Loeffler told us that the new record, the band's fourth, is as heavy and as melodic as its previous efforts: "Yeah, this record is pretty heavy. I don't think it's a total departure from what we do. We did take some risks on it, more so than we have in the past. It is a heavy record, but as always, it's melodic. You know, it has those big, chorus-y hooks which have been a staple in what we do for so long now."

Chevelle has set April 3rd as the release date for Vena Sera.

The CD marks the debut of bassist Dean Bernardini, who replaced Joe Loeffler -- brother of Pete and drummer Sam Loeffler -- last year.

Bernardini is the Loefflers' brother-in-law, having married their youngest sister Natalie.

Pete Loeffler told us that while the band has settled its business issues with Joe, their personal relationship is still on the outs.

Chevelle will hit the road as openers for Evanescence, beginning on March 16th in Fresno, California.
