Chris Daughtry offers American Idol advice
Former American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry definitely knows a thing or two about the ups and downs of American Idol. He didn't win the show, but now is having success with his band Daughtry. The ex-Idol contestant also told us why he thinks the show can open doors for talented performers: "I don't think it's cheesy one bit. I think it's cheesy if you're gonna go on there and use gimmicks and things like that, and not be yourself. But if you're gonna go on there and you're gonna be yourself and you think you have what it takes, then I think it's a great opportunity to show the world that."
Daughtry will hit the road January 28th in Anaheim, California.
American Idol premieres on Tuesday, January 16th, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
