Courtney Love for American Idol?

Courtney Love has told Usmagazine.com that she has been contacted about appearing as a judge on the hit series American Idol. The former Hole frontperson claimed that she was called by the show's executive producer, saying, "He was wondering if I was interested. I thought it was kind of weird but brilliant." Although the frontwoman did not reveal any further details, a source told us that the show may be looking to replace Paula Abdul due to her bizarre behavior in recent weeks.

Reps for American Idol were not available for comment.

Love is currently recording her second solo album in Los Angeles.

Love also recently revealed that a film biography of her late husband, Nirvana singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain, was in the works.
