Death Cab For Cutie frontman to make acting debut
Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard will make his film debut in the upcoming movie Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, according to NME. The movie, based on a collection of short stories by David Foster Wallace, is slated to come out later this year and was directed by The Office star John Krasinski. Gibbard is currently working on songs for the next Death Cab album, which the group will tentatively begin recording toward the end of 2007.
The plot of Hideous Men follows a graduate student who copes with a recent breakup by conducting interviews with various men.
Death Cab For Cutie is nominated for two Grammy Awards. The band's single "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" is up for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, while its DVD, Directions, is up for Best Long Form Music Video. The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS from Los Angeles on February 11th.
