Drummer Terry Bozzio talks about playing with Korn
Temporary Korn drummer Terry Bozzio spoke with Ultimate-Guitar.com about how he was recruited to fill in for founding Korn drummer David Silveria, who announced in December that he was taking a hiatus from the group. Bozzio said, "I worked with Jonathan (Davis, frontman) on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack, and we hit it off. (Silveria) feels like he needs to take a break for a while. He's been at it 10 years, so he's gonna kick back and I'm going to play with Korn, which is really exciting and lots of fun."
Bozzio said that the group will begin recording its eighth studio album in February for a spring release. He also confirmed that the band will headline the Family Values Tour again in the U.S. later this summer.
The 56-year-old Bozzio, long considered one of the greatest drummers in rock, is best known for his work with Missing Persons and Frank Zappa. He was inducted into the Hollywood RockWalk on January 17th.
Korn's "MTV Unplugged" CD has been pushed back from a February 20th release to March 6th. The show, which features guest appearances by Evanescence singer Amy Lee and members of the Cure, will still premiere online on February 10th and on MTV itself on the 17th.
Last summer's Family Values Tour, the first in five years, was documented on a CD and DVD that were released at the end of December.
