Godsmack singer given key to childhood hometown
Godsmack singer Sully Erna was given the key to the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts on Tuesday (January 16th), according to AOL Music. A "teary-eyed" Erna, who spent his formative years in the town, was presented with the key by Councilman Nunzio DiMarca, who said, "(Even) when he was washing dishes at my brother's restaurant, he's always been a very polished young man." Erna said in his speech that the town "molded me into the man I have become."
Erna will publish a memoir called The Paths We Choose on February 7th, which he described to us as "a snapshot of the first 30 years of my life." The book's web site is ThePathsWeChoose.com.
Godsmack is currently taking the early months of 2007 off and will possibly launch a new tour around March or April.
Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin, guitarist Tony Rombola and bassist Robbie Merrill's side project, called Another Animal, is tentatively scheduled to release its debut disc sometime this year.
