Gorillaz mastermind's new band visiting North America
Gorillaz musical mastermind Damon Albarn is bringing his new band, The Good, The Bad and the Queen, to North America for its debut tour here. The trek is scheduled to begin on March 11th in Toronto, with five shows confirmed so far. More dates are forthcoming, including an April 28th appearance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California. The group, which includes former members of the Verve and the Clash, released its self-titled first album last week.
The album was produced by Danger Mouse, who is one half of Gnarls Barkley.
Meanwhile, Gorillaz will release a collection of bonus tracks and B-sides on March 20th, featuring songs that were used to back up the animated group's eight British singles.
Albarn has not given any indication of when or if he intends to work on a new Gorillaz album.
The Good, The Bad and the Queen tour dates:
Mar 11 - Toronto, ONT - Kool Haus
Mar 12 - New York, NY - Webster Hall
Mar 14 - Washington, DC - 9:30 Club
Mar 16 - Austin, TX - Stubbs (South by Southwest)
