Incubus begins intimate tour
Incubus begins a North American tour on Friday, January 5th, in Vancouver, Canada, its first outing in support of its recently released sixth album, Light Grenades. The band is playing smaller theatres on this run instead of the larger venues and arenas it's played in the past. Guitarist Mike Einziger told us he's looking forward to a more intimate tour: "We really just felt like it needed to be small, and it needed to feel really special and intimate, and I really miss playing those places. You know, playing in the arenas is amazing, but after, you know, like anything else, you do anything enough times and it just becomes kind of monotonous. Also I think our fans really want to see us in smaller, intimate places."
The tour closes out on February 11th in Los Angeles.
Incubus has also been confirmed as one of the headliners for the Desert Rock 2007 festival, scheduled to take place on March 9th and 10th at the Dubai Country Club in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. Also appearing at the event will be Stone Sour, Mastodon, the Prodigy, In Flames and Iron Maiden.
Light Grenades was the first Incubus album to debut at Number One on the Billboard Top 200 album chart when it came out in November. But it fell to Number 37 the following week, marking the biggest plunge from the top spot in the history of the chart.
Singer Brandon Boyd will publish his second book, titled From The Murks of the Sultry Abyss, this month.
