Last day in life of Sex Pistol's Sid Vicious examined in new TV show
The last day that Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious spent alive is the subject of a new TV show that debuts on Thursday, January 18th. It's called The Final 24: Sid Vicious, and it follows him after getting out of the Rikers Island jail in New York City in February 1979, where he'd been held in the stabbing death of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen. The newly-clean Vicious, who'd gone through detox while in custody, celebrated his release with family and friends, but then he got hold of a huge quantity of heroin and was found dead the following morning. The Final 24: Sid Vicious airs on the Biography Channel at 10 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. CT / 11 p.m. PT.In the past, Sid Vicious's mother said that she got the heroin for her son, because she was afraid he would be sent back to jail if he was caught buying it himself.
The Final 24 is a new series on the Biography Channel, and upcoming episodes will feature John F. Kennedy, Jr., Hunter S. Thompson, and Marvin Gaye.
