Leaked Modest Mouse song named as single
Just days after it leaked online, a new Modest Mouse song called "Dashboard" has been named as the first single from the band's upcoming sixth album, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. According to Billboard.com, the track will arrive at radio stations by January 16th, with the album scheduled for release in early March. Other songs set for inclusion on the set are "Fire It Up," "Steaming Genius," "We've Got Everything," "Florida" and "Missed the Boat."
Frontman Isaac Brock cryptically described the new CD as a "nautical balalaika carnival romp," according to Punknews.org. The record follows up the band's 2004 commercial breakthrough, Good News For People Who Love Bad News.
The album will feature the recording and songwriting debut of new member and former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
Modest Mouse is currently on a short Australian tour and has not yet announced North American tour plans.
