Muse has most downloaded UK album of 2006
Muse's fourth album, Black Holes and Revelations, was the most downloaded album of 2006 in the U.K., according to Click Music. The record's online sales alone actually beat out the overall sales of the year's best-selling British rock album, Snow Patrol's Eyes Open. Muse will be appearing later this month and in early February on Australia and New Zealand's Big Day Out festival tour, before opening a North American trek for My Chemical Romance later this spring.
2006 was the final year in which download sales will be counted separately in the U.K. All digital singles and albums will be counted toward the main chart starting in 2007, regardless of whether they're physically released in stores.
The latest U.S. single from Muse's Black Holes and Revelations is called "Starlight."
