My Chemical Romance answers slagging by Kasabian

My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way has responded to a verbal attack by singer Tom Meighan of the British act Kasabian. According to NME, Meighan slammed the New Jersey punk group when its single, "Welcome to the Black Parade," hit Number One on the U.K. chart, saying, "It's like ventriloquists' music. It's weird and dark. They don't have anything positive to say. The only good news is that it won't last. These clowns won't be around for much longer. Their make-up will flake off and the scene will die out. And it can't happen soon enough."

Way responded, "It was obviously meant as a slam, but it was so poorly worded that it ended up sounding like a compliment...that just makes them kinda ignorant. This band has never had a bullshit war ever. I haven't found an opponent worthy enough yet...If you're gonna talk shit about us, you'd better have the juice."

The British music scene is notorious for band feuds, most notably between Oasis and just about anyone else out there.

My Chemical Romance is currently touring Australia and New Zealand on the Big Day Out festival tour. Guitarist Frank Iero has reportedly rejoined the group after falling ill and going home during some earlier Japanese dates.

The band will begin a North American tour in support of its new album, The Black Parade, on February 22nd.

My Chemical Romance has also made several international B-sides for singles released from The Black Parade available for download at the iTunes store. The tracks include several studio recordings as well as a couple of live cuts.
