My Chemical Romance premieres new video
My Chemical Romance premiered the video for its latest single, "Famous Last Words," on Thursday, January 11th at 11 p.m. on MTV. Singer Gerard Way told us that the track was especially important to the band while it was working on its new album, The Black Parade: "That song came about really at the darkest period while making the record, and it was the song that really made us feel the record was complete, which is why it's at the end. Like, certain songs were written after that, like 'Cancer,' 'Sleep' was actually written after that song. But 'Famous' was the one that kind of gave us the hope, it gave us the salvation, it gave us the redemption that we needed on this record to finish it." Way said on MTV recently that the video for "Famous Last Words" wraps up some themes and even incorporates some of the set from the clip for the album's first single, "Welcome to the Black Parade."
Another song from The Black Parade, "Dead!", will appear on the XBox 360 version of the popular video game Guitar Hero II. The XBox edition comes out in March.
A live performance by My Chemical Romance taped on New Year's Eve (December 31st) will be shown on the January 15th edition of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live.
My Chemical Romance will begin its first North American tour in support of The Black Parade on February 22nd in Manchester, New Hampshire.
