The Offspring parts with drummer
Drummer Atom Willard has left the Offspring, according to Punkbands.com. Willard has reportedly departed to concentrate full-time on working with Angels and Airwaves, the group started by former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge. Willard had been splitting his time between the two, recording and touring last year with Angels and Airwaves. There's no word yet on a new Offspring drummer.
Willard, formerly of Rocket From The Crypt, replaced founding Offspring drummer Ron Welty in 2003. However, the drums on the band's last album, 2003's Splinter, were handled by A Perfect Circle's Josh Freese before Willard was hired, so Willard never actually played on an Offspring record.
The Offspring is currently working on its next studio effort, which is expected out this summer. The band is also rumored to be making its second appearance on the Warped Tour this year, following its inaugural stint on the tour in 2005.
