Poison fans weigh in with songs for covers album
Poison plans to make a rock covers album this year, and they've asked fans to help them pick the songs. On their official myspace.com/poison website, the band wrote, "Hey Poison fans, your favorite band is going into the studio to record an album of your favorite classic rock songs, and they want your input... How cool would it be to hear Poison perform the song you suggested LIVE when they play your town this summer?! AC/DC? (Lynyrd) Skynyrd? ZZ Top? The (Rolling) Stones? The Who? Let's hear it!"
The fans have weighed in, and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird," Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz," and AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" are among the top vote-getters, along with what might be an obvious choice -- Alice Cooper's "Poison."
Poison had a lot of success last year with a cover of Grand Funk Railroad's "We're An American Band."
There's no word on when they will release the covers album.
