Rage Against The Machine to close Coachella

Rage Against The Machine will close the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on Sunday night, April 29th, according to an updated lineup issued by event organizers. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will top the bill on Saturday, April 28th, while Bjork will headline the opening day's festivities on Friday, April 27th. The initial lineup was announced earlier this week, with the daily schedule and additional acts revealed yesterday (Wednesday, January 24th). Rage Against The Machine is reuniting for its first live performance since 2000 and first played Coachella in 1999, during the festival's first year.

The Rage performance at this year's Coachella is being promoted as a "one-off," and there is no indication as to whether the group plans to tour or record again beyond this.

The eighth annual Coachella outing will take place once again at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Tickets go on sale this Saturday (January 27th). This is the first year that the event has expanded to three days.

Other acts slated to appear on the bill include the Arcade Fire, Interpol, The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Arctic Monkeys, Sonic Youth, the Satellite Party, Kings Of Leon, Fountains Of Wayne and dozens more.

Influential alternative rock act The Jesus and Mary Chain is also reuniting to appear at this year's festival.

More information, including ticket, parking, camping and location details, can be found at coachella.com.
