Shins plant their feet on the road
The Shins will begin the first leg of their tour in support of the band's new album on February 8th in Minneapolis, according to Billboard. The North American dates so far run through February 21st, with more to be announced. The band's third disc, called Wincing The Night Away, arrives in stores on January 23rd and features the single "Phantom Limb." The group will also perform on the January 13th edition of Saturday Night Live as well as make an in-store appearance at the Virgin Megastore in New York's Union Square on the day of the CD's release.
The Shins will take a few months off later this spring, when frontman James Mercer and his wife are expecting a baby.
Mercer has also contributed backing vocals to three songs on the new album from Modest Mouse, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, which is due out in March.
