Sting says something could happen with The Police in 2007

Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland both say a Police reunion is up to Sting, and now Sting says it just might happen this year. According to USA Today, Sting said, "We started 30 years ago, so it would be nice to do something to celebrate. We don't quite know what, but we're talking about it." He added, "I'm deeply, deeply fond of (Copeland and Summers). I'm very proud of the band that we were in... We're still great friends. It is the 30th anniversary. We are discussing something. Don't know what, but definitely something."

For a few weeks now, there have been rumors about a Police tour to mark the 30th anniversary of their first single. The only official comment from the band so far has been that there will be "something special" to note the anniversary, but that nothing has been finalized.

In fact, it was 30 years ago this past Friday (January 12th, 1977), that the Police formed, when Sting first played with Copeland and guitarist Henry Padovani at Copeland's apartment in London.

Sting also joked that he was ready to join Van Halen, when he was told that the Police and Van Halen are the biggest reunions on the horizon.
