Wolfmother not going into hibernation any time soon
Although Wolfmother has been writing new songs for its second album, the Australian trio doesn't expect to return to the studio until later in 2007. That's because they plan to come back and do more touring in the U.S., which bassist Chris Ross said suits him just fine: "Going to America, it's so big, you know, I feel like we've been around it so many times, and we're always going to different places, and, you know, the perception is that we've still got more ground to cover. I mean, that's fine by me, 'cause I think we're all really progressing by doing all this playing as well, and when we do get time to muck around, usually the ideas just sort of come out thick and fast too, which is really cool."
The band hopes to finish touring behind its debut album by the summer and begin recording a new CD this fall.
Although Wolfmother is touring Europe next month, the group plans to attend the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 11th, where the band's single "Woman" is nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance.
The band will then return to the U.S. for another run of shows in late February, with a February 28th date in Minneapolis already confirmed. More shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
