American Idol boots its first four semi-finalists

American Idol booted its first four semi-finalists on last night's (February 22nd) show. Amy Krebs, Nicole Tranquillo, Paul Kim, and Rudy Cardenas were shown the door after their lackluster performances Tuesday (February 20th) and Wednesday (February 21st).

The remaining 20 semi-finalists go at it again next week and will continue to be divided by gender. Everyone will compete against each other once the field is down to 12 finalists next month.

22-year-old Amy Krebs was dumped for her rendition of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me": "... I can't make you love me if you don't."

Philadelphia resident Nicole Tranquillo lost out after trying her luck with Chaka Khan's "Stay": "...What I'm doing's gotta pay some way some howwwww."

25-year-old Paul Kim was eliminated for his unimpressive interpretation of "Careless Whisper": "... the way I danced with youuuuuu."

Los Angelino Rudy Cardenas didn't have to go far for his "Free Ride" out of the competition: "... come on and take a free rideeeeee whew."
