Anna Nicole Smith's body decomposing

While a Florida judge decides who'll be allowed to bury Anna Nicole Smith, her body is deteriorating "faster than normal." That's the word from the Broward County Medical Examiner's office, which embalmed the corpse over the weekend and says it needs to be examined sooner rather than later if anyone hopes to have an open casket funeral. Smith has been in cold storage since her February 8th death.

Smith's commitment partner, Howard K. Stern, and her mother, Virgie Arthur, are at odds over the Playboy Playmate's final resting spot -- Stern says Smith bought multiple plots in the Bahamas so she could be next to her dead son Daniel and Arthur contends that her estranged daughter should be laid to rest in her native Texas. They're in court this week to settle the matter and, along with ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead, will soon face each other in California in a separate trial to determine the paternity of Smith's baby Dannielynn.

In this clip taken from Stern's courtroom testimony, he describes their relationship and her desire to be buried in the Bahamas: "She was my best friend, my lover, the mother of my daughter, everything to me. She said, 'I am here, and I want my son to be here. And this is where I want to be, this is home."

In related news, TMZ reports that Larry Seidlin, the Florida judge presiding over the Smith trial, wants his own TV show.
