Black Label Society guitarist making million-dollar donation to hospital

Black Label Society and Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde is in the midst of establishing a foundation that will ultimately provide one million dollars to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for a new laboratory. According to his web site, the money will go to the facility over a five to 10-year period. The foundation has already reportedly received several sizable donations. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is based in Memphis, Tennessee and is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other diseases.

No family ever pays for treatments at St. Jude's that are not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.

Zakk Wylde is currently on a promotional tour doing acoustic performances at radio stations around the country. He plays today (Monday, February 12th) in Madison, Wisconsin.

Black Label Society guitarist Nick Catanese was out with Wylde but was forced by illness to return home.

The band will support Ozzy Osbourne on his upcoming spring tour of Europe, and is a likely contender for the bill on this summer's Ozzfest.
