Chevelle, 10 years suit up for Super Bowl

With the unofficial national holiday of Super Bowl Sunday upon us this weekend (February 4th), fans all over the country are choosing sides, ordering food and beer, and laying friendly bets on the imminent clash between the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts. Guitarist and singer Pete Loeffler, of the Chicago-based band Chevelle, told us he is naturally rooting for his hometown boys: "I am definitely a Bears fan growing up in Chicago here, so I'm excited for them. You know, it's just a big deal for, you know, anyone who lives in Chicago, so...in fact, my girlfriend is shooting over to Indianapolis and she's gonna be wearing a Bears jersey her entire stay there just to get them riled up a little bit. It's gonna be funny."

10 Years bassist Lewis Cosby, on the other hand, wants to see Colts quarterback Peyton Manning bring home the trophy after the team's triumphant AFC championship win two weeks ago: "I'm Colts all the way, man. That was one of the best games I've seen in a long time and I'm a huge Peyton Manning fan, 'cause I went to the University of Tennessee for a little bit so Peyton is, like, the savior of Knoxville, Tennessee, our hometown. So, yeah, we've been pulling for him forever to win a Super Bowl. So I think they've got a chance, man. I think he's hungry enough to get it this time around, so...go Colts!"

Super Bowl XLI will kick off at 6:25 p.m. ET on Sunday night at Dolphin Stadium in south Florida. The game will be broadcast on CBS.

Chevelle releases its fourth album, Vena Sera, on April 3rd and will hit the road with Evanescence in March.

10 Years has just begun recording the follow-up to its 2005 major label debut, The Autumn Effect.
