Fall Out Boy releases "Infinity On High"

Fall Out Boy unleashes its much-hyped new album on Tuesday, February 6th, called Infinity On High. The disc follows up the band's breakthrough 2005 effort, From Under The Cork Tree, which made the Chicago act into superstars. Naturally there was pressure to repeat its success, but singer Patrick Stump said the band stayed focused on making the record they wanted to make: "Realistically it comes down to, there's a record label that's willing to pay for your record, you know, and if you make a bad record, that's the last time that you'll ever get to have a record label pay for your record. So I kind of felt like this was our one shot to make this record, so rather than worry about how many it sells or worry about how cool it is or anything like that, to just make a record that we really liked and we really believed in, because we'll never get to do this again. And I'm very, very happy with it, I'm very proud of us."

Infinity On High was leaked online three weeks ago, prompting bassist Pete Wentz to call it the "worst leak in the history of music" and leading its label to offer fans an additional digital live EP with purchase of the physical CD.

Fall Out Boy will make several TV appearances this week to promote the arrival of Infinity On High. The group will show up today on MTV's TRL, perform on the Thursday (February 8th) edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live, and head to Fuse on Friday (February 9th) for a guest spot on Steven's Untitled Rock Show.

Meanwhile, dates for the 2007 Honda Civic Tour, which the band is headlining, have been announced. Support will come from Plus 44. The confirmed schedule is:
