Fall Out Boy singer not concerned about leak
Fall Out Boy's new album, Infinity On High, hit the streets on Tuesday, February 6th and industry insiders are predicting that it could sell as many as 400,000 copies in its first week of release. But no one is really sure what effect the album's online leak three weeks ago could have on the final sales figures. Singer Patrick Stump told us he's not that worried about it: "I'm still one of those people that goes out and buys CDs, but I don't really wanna, I don't really feel like, you know, if that's not what this generation is doing, that's cool, you know what I mean. Like, that's just me, that's what I like doing, so I personally miss that, and it's kind of weird to me that people don't wanna do that. But I'm so happy that people wanna hear it, no matter what. That's rewarding."
If Fall Out Boy sells that many copies, it will be the highest rock debut since October, when Evanescence's The Open Door moved 447,000 copies.
Fall Out Boy hopscotched across the country yesterday, playing three shows in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles to promote the new CD.
The group performs tomorrow night (Thursday, February 8th) on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and heads to Fuse on Friday (February 9th) for a guest spot on Steven's Untitled Rock Show.
Fall Out Boy is also slated to headline the 2007 Honda Civic Tour, which begins on April 18th in Charlotte, North Carolina.
