Guess Who leaders working on covers album
Guess Who leaders Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings are working on a covers album. They're calling it Jukebox, and it should be released in April. Among the songs they've worked up are Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie," Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone," Sam Cooke's "Good Times," and Edwin Starr's "Agent Double-O Soul." Cummings told Canada's Sun Media, "We each picked a bunch of the stuff we loved when we were little... records we loved when we were coming up and stuff we had a real affinity for." He added, "We didn't want it to be so obscure that nobody knew what the hell we were doing. They're very recognizable tunes, but we're not just following the same formula everyone's heard before."
Bachman and Cummings will debut some of the songs tomorrow (Saturday, February 17th) at the Celebrate A Century concert, which is being held at the Burton Cummings Theatre For The Performing Arts in Winnipeg to mark the venue's 100th birthday.
The Guess Who's next show is March 17th in St. Paul, Minnesota.
