Hot Hot Heat firing up new album
Hot Hot Heat will tentatively release its next album in May, according to NME.com. The Canadian act has just completed mixing its latest effort, which has yet to be titled. The band reportedly used 15 different producers on the disc -- one for each song the group recorded. Singer Steve Bays said about the new album, "It's about having your heart and will crushed, and struggling to hold on to optimism and innocence." He added that some songs on the disc are "perfect driving-in-the-desert songs," while others are "great seedy club songs."
The new album will follow up the band's 2005 breakthrough, Elevator.
This is Hot Hot Heat's first project without founding guitarist Dante DeCaro, who left after Elevator was completed and was replaced by Luke Paquin.
Elevator came out in April of 2005 and featured the singles "Middle Of Nowhere" and "You Owe Me An IOU."
