Iron Maiden to rock India and Europe
Iron Maiden are to play in the grounds of a palace in Bangalore, their first gig in India. The concert on 17 March will be the first in the country by any major rock or metal band. It's very special to us to be able to play to new fans in countries we've never been to before," said lead singer Bruce Dickinson to the BBC. "We hear the Indian fans are very loud and into their metal."
He promised to bring the group's "entire stage show" - as seen in Europe and the United States - to Bangalore, including their mascot, Eddie. Dickinson said the set would include tracks from the current album, A Matter of Life and Death, plus classic songs.
Maiden's 2006 album "A Matter Of Life And Death" reached no 2 in the Indian album charts, the highest position for any rock act, ever.
