Korn singer puts solo tour on back burner
Although Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis recently said that he would go out on his first solo tour sometime in early 2007, Davis has now put those plans on hold. He told us that the impending arrival of the next Korn album, as well as his new baby son, are his main priorities: "Probably at the end of April we're gonna have another boy, and so I've got to be home for that. Then I'll take off and go on tour, so when the Korn album drops and there's time in between, I'm definitely gonna go out and do that (solo) tour. Sometime in between there I'll figure it out when I'm gonna do it. I'm definitely gonna do it. I'll do it acoustic but it's gonna be really cool."
Davis said that his solo tour will feature songs that he recorded for the soundtrack of the movie Queen of the Damned and some Korn rarities, among other things.
Davis and his wife Deven plan to name their new son Zeppelin. They already have one boy named Pirate, while Davis also has a son named Nathan from a previous marriage.
Korn is currently recording its eighth studio album and plans to release it this summer. Veteran rock drummer Terry Bozzio is filling in for original Korn drummer David Silveria, who is taking a hiatus from the group.
Korn's CD of its recently taped MTV Unplugged performance will arrive on March 6th. The show will premiere online on February 24th and on MTV March 2nd. Guests include members of the Cure as well as Evanescence singer Amy Lee, who sings on the first single, "Freak On A Leash."
