Meat Loaf kicks off Bat Out Of Hell III tour

Meat Loaf and his band are in Pala, California, on Friday, February 23rd, to kick off their new round of tour dates. They'll be playing music from all three Bat Out Of Hell albums, with the spotlight being on his latest release, Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose.

Meat Loaf told us he's really looking forward to showcasing his new material, since it doesn't sound like his past work -- or anyone else's music, for that matter: "I can make records where it sounds like what everybody else is doing, but what's the point? I wanted this to be as much like the way Bat Out Of Hell came at people, as a different sound, as a different... I didn't want III to just be a re-creation of (Bat Out Of Hell) I and II, because I think that's going sideways, and not going forward."

MeatLoaf's North American dates wrap up April 12th in New York City, after which he heads to Europe for shows from May 10th to June 21st.
