My Chemical Romance kicks off North American treck
My Chemical Romance kicks off its first full-fledged North American tour in support of The Black Parade on Thursday, February 22nd, in Manchester, New Hampshire. Although the group is playing a large amount of material from The Black Parade on this run, guitarist Frank Iero told us that fans shouldn't expect to hear the concept album in its entirety just yet: "We're really trying to see when the perfect time to do the record in its entirety will be. I don't know if that will be for this, the U.S. run, or if it will be all the songs off The Black Parade, but just not in the same order. We want it to be really special, but we're really excited to do it, and I think that it's definitely a possibility coming up soon."
The opening act on this leg of the tour will be Rise Against. The jaunt's second leg, which begins on April 14th in Houston, Texas, will feature support from British trio Muse.
Frank Iero had to miss My Chemical Romance's recent Australian and Japanese tours after he was grounded with a severe sinus infection.
"Famous Last Words" is the latest single from The Black Parade, which came out last October.
