Red Hot Chili Peppers score four Grammys
The Red Hot Chili Peppers took home four Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 11th, at the 49th annual awards ceremony, second only to country act the Dixie Chicks, who won five. The Chili Peppers won Best Rock Album for their 2006 double-CD set, Stadium Arcadium, as well as Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Dani California." The band and Stadium Arcadium also picked up a prize for best limited edition packaging. The Chili Peppers gave the show's final musical performance, playing their latest single, "Snow (Hey Oh)."
Gnarls Barkley received Best Alternative Album for St. Elsewhere and Best Urban Alternative Performance for their smash single "Crazy."
Australian trio Wolfmother scored a Grammy on their first try, earning Best Hard Rock Performance for the song "Woman," while Slayer took home the Best Metal Performance statue for "Eyes Of The Insane."
The Grammy Awards were broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS.
The Chili Peppers and Gnarls Barkley resume their U.S. tour together later this month.
