Red Jumpsuit Apparatus headed to Warped Tour
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will be one of the headlining acts on the main stage of this summer's Warped Tour, lead singer Ronnie Winter exclusively revealed to us. Although this isn't the band's first appearance on the long-running punk festival, Winter said it's a big step forward for the group: "We did it last year, on a smaller stage, but this year, we're actually gonna be able to play the main stage for the entire tour. So we're extremely stoked about that because it's yet another dream come true to add to the list of stuff that's already happened to us. We're stoked to even be part of the history and that people even care who we are."
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is currently headlining the 2007 Take Action! Tour, which focuses on suicide prevention through awareness campaigns, partnerships with anti-suicide organizations and fundraising for the Youth America Hotline (1-877-YOUTHLINE).
Ten percent of the money earned from ticket sales goes toward the hotline, with another five percent coming from sales of the tour's compilation album.
Members of the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus also recently became certified crisis counselors for the Hotline, and Ronnie Winter testified in Washington D.C. last month about domestic abuse and suicide prevention.
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is supporting its debut album, Don't You Fake It, which was released this past July and features the single "Face Down." The song deals with domestic violence, which Ronnie Winter witnessed as a child.
