Rod Stewart rocks out for audiences
Rod Stewart continues his North American trek this week in support of his Still The Same... album, which features his versions of rock classics. Covering other people's songs is nothing new for Stewart, who told us that he thinks it was his voice that first appealed to fans: "I know that's what got people's attention. With my first couple albums, it wasn't necessarily my songwriting. It was my style of singing, and the odd cover versions I did on my first two albums -- the covers and the wide range of material that my voice would allow me to cover."
Stewart will be on the road through July.
He's had success with a lot of cover songs, including Tom Waits' "Downtown Train" and Van Morrison's "Have I Told You Lately."
