Tool expands North American tour

Tool has added a slew of dates to its upcoming North American tour, which now stretches into April. The new shows take the band into the South before swinging north and then into Canada. The jaunt begins on March 15th in Las Vegas and drummer Danny Carey told us it may extend to July. As hinted previously, Carey also said that the band will enhance its stage show for this run: "We're gonna keep expounding upon the visual parts of the show, I'm sure, doing different things, you know. We have a whole team of people that we are constantly working with, trying to come up with better and bigger things and, you know, just ways to reinforce the songs, you know, ways to reinforce the music and all the art that we come up with."

Tool may record and film some of the dates on the tour for a possible live CD and DVD.
In other news, the band was confirmed yesterday (Wednesday, February 14th) to perform at the 2007 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, held between June 14th and 17th in Manchester, Tennessee. The show's lineup, which was leaked a day before the official announcement, also includes Wolfmother, the White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand and dozens more, in addition to headliners the Police.
Tickets for Bonnaroo go on sale Friday, February 23rd, at noon.
